To control bad habits, you need to make it difficult to start them and even harder to continue them.
If I set the Plan to Just Block and require entering random characters, I can make it difficult to impulsively open certain apps. However, this method doesn’t make it hard to continue using them once they’re open.
On the other hand, if I set the Plan to Time Limit, it becomes harder to keep using the apps, but not necessarily difficult to start them in the first place.
That’s why I wish FocusMe’s Android app had a Pause option instead of just Stop for plans.
With this feature, I would have to enter an annoying random character sequence before procrastinating impulsively, and after a set time, the app would automatically lock again.
I actually made the same request here five months ago, but since nothing has changed, I decided to post it again with different wording.
I sincerely hope my request is properly understood this time.
