Sometimes the Pomodoro break becomes shorter than 1 minute. - Nyankoropi - 04-22-2025

I started using this wonderful app two days ago.
Everything has been great so far, but I have one question about how it works.
I mainly use the Pomodoro timer, and I set short breaks to 5 minutes and long breaks to 15 minutes.
However, sometimes the break becomes less than one minute (maybe around 15 seconds?).
I have ticked the “Wait for User” option – could this be the reason?
Or is it a mistake in my settings?
Please let me know.
I’m a user from Japan and not very confident with English, so I would be very happy if you could reply in simple English.

Hello Nyankoropi!

Welcome, and thank you for using FocusMe! We’re so glad to have you with us. ?

About your question – no, your breaks should not be that short. It might be related to the “Wait for User” option. When you come back from your break, is the “Wait for User” screen already gone?

If yes, then you're right – the timer has already started counting while you were away. That’s why the break feels so short. Can you please confirm if the "Blank Screen during breaks" is also checked?

We look forward to hearing from you. You can also get in touch with us directly: focusme.com/support/

In addition to being entertaining, Geometry Dash trains reflexes, concentration, and hand-eye coordination. Difficult levels require players to memorize layouts and calculate timing precisely, stimulating logical thinking and patience.

When “Wait for User” is on, the app waits for you to manually start the next work session after a break ends. If you don’t start it right away, the app might automatically end the break early or skip to the next phase, which could make the break feel much shorter than 5 minutes.

Hi! Could you please check if the Break Screen option is enabled and whether you've also set up a password for the "Stop Challenge when active"?

Sometimes the short breaks do feel too short, especially when you're deep in focus. Still, it's a great way to stay productive and avoid burnout! World Guesser

That’s a great point! ? Short breaks can definitely feel quick when you’re in the zone, but you’re right — they really do help recharge and prevent burnout.

One trick some users try is adjusting break lengths or mixing in a few longer ones throughout the day. That way you still get the benefits of stepping away without breaking your flow too much.

Glad to hear the breaks are helping you stay productive overall! ?
