Parental control - dreieckspunkt - 03-21-2019

Hey, i´d like to use FocusMe parental control function.

The child should and could start the computer for his own and should get a time limit for internet access (social media sites) and apps (games). Does FocusMe and the plan starts automatically with the computer? Under settings i controled the recommended settings for parental control.

And another thing i saw: When i start e.g. youtube, the counter counts downwards. but if i use another window with windows explorer (for example) which is activated, and the youtube video besides it, the countdown time for the plan does not count downwards. Is this correct?

Hi there. I have a few things that might help you:

First off, here's a guide specifically for parental controls: https://focusme.com/docs/how-to-use-focusme-as-parental-control/

You can enable "start at logon" in the settings tab to make FocusMe start whenever the computer is turned on. Additionally, you can enable "start minimized" so FocusMe starts running in the background instead of opening the main window.

Once you've set FocusMe to start automatically, you can then setup you plan to run on a schedule (if you haven't yet). The guide above details how you can do that.

In case you run into problems with your plan, you can contact support by going to focusme.com/support then either create a ticket or chat with us there.

Thanks for help! But my biggest problem is the counter for e.g. social media. If i watch a youtube video for example and open a windows explorer window on the other screen, the youtube video is playing on (inactive) and the counter did not count. This not helps me for parental control, if children finds out Wink

Hey, i installed the update and the the browser addons. It still does not work. If the youtube video runs in background, the timer does not countdown. i checked it again.

FocusMe offers various features for parental control, including time limits for internet access and apps/games. By configuring the settings appropriately, you can set up time limits for specific websites and applications.
Regarding automatic startup, FocusMe can be configured to start automatically when the computer boots up. This ensures that the parental control features are active from the beginning. tunnel rush

Yes, FocusMe should start automatically with the computer if the correct settings are enabled. Regarding YouTube, the timer only counts down when the window is active, which explains the issue.
