Hosts File - DrunkYeti - 02-08-2019

Hello everyone, I want to know if there is a way to completely block access to the hosts file.

RE: Hosts File - jon - 02-11-2019

Hi,

Yes you could put the below into your blacklist ensuring you choose the correct Type and Value:

Type:                     Value
Folder Location:      C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
Window Title:         HOSTS -

The first entry would block the HOSTS file folder in Windows Explorer.

The second one should ensure that the file gets blocked in most text editors for example:

HOSTS - Notepad
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\HOSTS - Notepad++ [Administrator]

Please try it out and let us know. Thanks
