The Web and App Stats in FocusMe are fantastic and a big part of why I've stuck with the program. They've helped me become more aware of just how much we can underestimate time spent on stuff.
What would make it even better though is a sort of daily timeline that could show us an overview of what we did at each hour of that day. This would preferably integrate both Web and App stats. Maybe only include websites/apps visited for at least 5 mins.
It would also solve the annoyance of skewing the stats when I use the computer past midnight.
Looking forward to see FocusMe getting even better in 2019
I have Vivaldi and it looks it's not supported right now, so I came with idea to keep list of supported browsers and requests of support. So anybody can report status or request support without making new thread for it
Note for admins: Feel free to modify it
[supported] Chrome [not sure] Safari [supported] Edge [supported] Internet explorer [supported] Firefox [supported] Opera
tl;dr: I wish there was an option that allows users to start the breaks manually instead of automatically in Pomodoro Mode.
For example, when the break starts, I might still be in the zone and want to continue working. However, the break starts automatically. Sometimes I don't want to lose the break so I end my work (albeit somewhat reluctantly). Yes, I could continue working but when I want to take a break by then, my break time is already over.
If you care for more elaboration:
For example, in my case, my setup: 40 min work > 10 min break > 40 min work > 10 min break and so on
Sometimes, when it's already 40 min, I want to keep working. So I miss the 10 min break. But after working for extra 20 min, I want to take a break. But the break would have already been over and now I'm in the work session, locked out of all my entertainment and thus the option to take a break. I could work straight for another 20 min (a total of 90 min) for the second break but it's not sustainable in the long-run. So I'm a bit reluctant to use this feature, yet it's a great system. I've never finished a whole Pomodoro session due to its rigidity (lack of flexibility).
So it would be very nice to have the option to open up FocusMe and start the break manually after the work session has ended; to have the control over whether to start the break when the work time is up.
I think an extra button for Pomodoro timer might do: check this box if you want to start the breaks manually. The default would be automatic break time (as it is now)
Does anyone use the Pomodoro mode frequently? Are there any workaround? Thanks!
I use Vivaldi by default but find that fm seems to have inconsistent results with the whitelisting on it (even after enabling the render toggle as per user manual).
So I use chrome instead when this happens - but even then results are odd. I am locking down to whitelist my work domain e.g abc.com I can load a page from a device on the domain and it works ok. If I alt-tab to another app and back again, then the tab gets closed (or sent to home page in my case) and it says site blah not on whitelist (showing the abc.com address) - so I then have to press back to reload it and it works.
Any ideas why this happens and if there is a fix? If not, is there a MOST supported browser?
We have just signed up for a trial.
I'm planning to use the software mainly for parental control.
We are a family of 4 and each person has a separate Windows user account/login.
I ran the plan successfully on my Windows User account, but I can't seem to get it to run on my child's user account too.
I would rather not have to maintain 3-4 different plans - is there any way to set up a "master" control to cover all users?
Hi Jon. I would like to request the ability to block websites/apps based on the location (within a certain radius of an address) or network (e.g. connected to my home WiFi). This will help me tremendously and I believe others too once you introduce the feature. When I am home I am very unproductive if I have access to the Internet. When I go to uni or work, the environment is enough to get me to be productive. Therefore I would like to block the Internet when I am at home, have it blocked all day, and when I go out I can access it. This is one big feature for me. I believe no one else does this, but like many other things focusme can be the first and best at it. Please let me know if you can integrate this soon. Thank you for all your efforts!
Hello, i'd like to request a resetting of my account if possible. I set a time limit on a steam game on my account, and for some reason it is blocking other steam games and making the timer run down when i play those as well.
If i could get my focusme account reset, that would be great, but if not that is fine as well. My subscription will expire in a few days and i might not continue if i cant get this fixed, thanks.
Hi. When I'm watching a video, and the "Break" moment starts, the screen blocks, but my video is still playing, and when the break ends up, I loose the minute it was playing before.
It would be useful that the app make the video automatically stop when the break occurs.
In previous versions of FocusMe there was a feature called "Wait for user" - working with "Pomodoro", when a break ended, the system waited until a movement of the mouse to start another round.
This feature is not included in the new version. Bring it back, please!
